Rubgy
What is rugby?
Rugby may seem like a tough sport, but above all, it is a sport where teamwork, respect, and fun take center stage. It is not just about strength, but also about speed, technique, tactics, and cooperation. Anyone can play rugby, regardless of experience or physique. Additionally, respect for teammates, opponents, and the referee always comes first.
The try
Two teams attempt to score points by pushing the ball over the opponent's try line (a try) or kicking it between the goalposts
The scrum
The ball may only be thrown backwards, but may be kicked forwards. If the ball is thrown forwards (accidentally or intentionally), a scrum follows, in which the teams compete 8 against 8 for the ball (see the photo).
The tackle
Tackling is only allowed safely and below the waist. After a tackle, a ruck often forms, in which both teams compete for possession of the ball from their own side.
More information about the rules of the game can be found on the World Rugby website: https://www.world.rugby/.
Women's Rugby
Women's rugby is growing rapidly in the Netherlands and is known for the combination of sporting challenge and a strong team atmosphere. Players with different backgrounds and skill levels are welcome and will find a place that suits their abilities.

Student Rugby
Student rugby combines sport with an active student life. Through training sessions, tournaments, and meetings of the Dutch Student Rugby Union (NSRB), you will quickly meet new people, both within Medusa and at other student clubs throughout the Netherlands. Beginners and experienced players are welcome.
